Every year around the holidays you’re probably asked “What do you want for Christmas?”

For teenagers in the Alaska foster care system that is not a question that often comes up.

Join Alaska Integrated Media to help make every foster child’s Christmas awesome with the 9th annual PUMP UP THE KIDS.

The program gives teenagers 13-18 the chance to tell us what they want for the holidays. KZND and their listeners, with the help of other radio stations at Alaska Integrated Media, rally together to make sure that all kids get every single thing they ask for on their Christmas list.

How do I adopt a wishlist?

Fill out the form in the right column. You will receive an email from promotions@alaskaim.com within the next few days with your child's wishlist.

When will the kids get their gifts?

All gifts will be distributed in December before Christmas.

Should I wrap the gifts?

No, at time of drop-off, gifts should be unwrapped and in their original packaging if possible. All presents must be screened before we distribute them to ensure the safety of the kids. 

What should I expect after adopting a wishlist?

Within the next few days, you will receive an email from promotions@alaskaim.com with your foster teen's wishlist. Most lists have between 3 and 5 items; many kids asked for small items like shoes, giftcards, and headphones. 

Where do these lists come from, anyways?

Each list is handwritten by an Alaskan foster teen. We work with the State Department of Social Services to make the holidays brighter for each of these kids. 

Can I know more about the child who's list I'm adopting / Can I meet the child who's list I'm adopting?

Unfortunately we must ensure the privacy and safety of the kids we're helping, so direct contact is not possible. Know that each child is extremely grateful for your generosity and thoughts. Many of them write to us, saying that they normally do not get anything during the holidays. By adopting a wishlist, you are reminding this kids that the world has not forgotten about them. 

I can't afford to adopt an entire wishlist. How else can I help?

We currently need over 100 gift cards to places like Wal-Mart, Fred Meyers, Zumiez, Pac Sun, Hot Topic, Best Buy, iTunes, Barnes & Noble, etc. We suggest a minimum of $25. You can bring any donations to 4700 Business Park Blvd, Building E, Suite 44 between Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5PM
